Did You Know That Learning A New Language Keeps Your Brain Healthy?
How much time do you spend vegetating in front of a TV, turning your brain into mush and opening the door to Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease are not synonymous with old age. In fact in most cases they are a direct result of an unhealthy brain either from a previous injury, lack of use, or some form of previous substance abuse.
That doesn’t mean you need to throw your hands up in the air and make the proverbial statement, “Well then, what’s the use!” The body regenerates cells at an amazing rate and you can start healthy restoration any time you like, and that most certainly pertains to the brain.
Seriously, maintaining a healthy brain is all about use it or lose it. Of course “ADDING IN” the good stuff like fish oil, avocados, walnuts and such, certainly help the healing and maintenance process.
BUT – there’s something else you can do that will be fun, entertaining and could even become profitable over the long haul.
Now anyone that knows me, knows I’m not the biggest fan of computer brain games, crossword puzzles, Sudoku and the likes. I’m not saying they are bad for you, but I am saying if you don’t switch them up the brain establishes these patterns and the real value to your brain’s health diminishes over time.
So what can you do that really – POWERFULLY – fires up all the neurons in your brain?
LEARN A NEW LANGUAGE!
OK – I know that many of you have heard the limiting belief that it’s hard to learn a new language after childhood. Well nothing could be farther from the truth! Certainly it’s going to take a bit of time to get your brain fired back up and into learning mode, but once you are rocking and rolling you’ll be bla, bla, bla in the language of your choice before you know it!
So after a bit of research I found this cool language learning website. My recommendation would be for you to give it a whirl! Currently this site has close to 20 different languages and it’s FREE.
So next you think about turning on the old “Boob Tube”, first consider loving your self and more specifically your brain and fire up your language-learning course!
