YOUR SECOND FIFTY - THE BEGINNING

“I could not, at any age, be content to take my place by the fireside and simply look on. Life was meant to be lived. Curiosity must be kept alive. One must never, for whatever reason, turn his back on life.”

Eleanor Roosevelt

At age 95, Nola Ochs became the world’s oldest college graduate. At age 94 Fauja Singh competed in the Edinburgh Marathon Relay. Jeanne Calment of France died at 122 years of age. Nerve cells in the human brain and muscle cells in the heart have the capacity to last more than 100 years. So why do our bodies break down and the majority of us die before we reach 100 years of age? Because most of us believe that’s just the way it is, but here at Your Second Fifty we don’t!

Your Second Fifty Magazine wants you to challenge old beliefs and explore new possibilities. Your Second Fifty Magazine wants you to keep an open mind, and to discover that the capacity to completely change your own experience of ageing lies within you.

We ask you to participate and share your experiences, share your understandings and share your hopes and dreams. Send it articles, write blogs, send photos. Your Second Fifty magazine is about you living - you living each day with passion and love for life itself - Your Second Fifty magazine is your magazine - your magazine to enrich your life and the lives of others. Your Second Fifty isn’t a down hill slide - Your Second Fifty is when you can actually make a difference - when you have the wisdom and time to make our world a better place for all to live.
